You helped champion the survival of independent venues.

Washington’s music community came together to support independent venues and through the generous donations of more than 4,200 individual donors, Keep Music Live has helped bridged the gap for venues threatened with permanently closing due to COVID-19. In 2021, Keep Music Live issued 77 grants to small, independent music venues across Washington State – providing them with funding to help cover expenses such as rent, insurance, maintenance, PPE improvements and licenses.

Additionally, our local efforts resulted in national support for music venues. Keep Music Live’s awareness building and advocacy was a contributing factor to passage of the federal government Save Our Stages Act, also known as the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant.

While the Keep Music Live fundraising campaign has ended, the opportunity to support our live music industry has not. We encourage the Keep Music Live community to continue to support and advocate for Washington’s live music industry and support our local artists and bands. More information can be found here.

Keep Music Live is a force of music lovers who united to create this relief effort. We are grateful to the Keep Music Live community and your passion in supporting Washington’s independent venues.

Keep Music Live was a COVID-19 fundraising campaign created by a community of live music lovers in the Northwest. The Whatcom Community Foundation served as the 501c3 fiscal sponsor for Keep Music Live.
